The projects featured in the RMTA Gallery are one-of-a-kind sweaters & shawls ~ hand knit and all but one custom designed especially for the recipient. (The sweater for Mary-Ann was custom knit using an Alice Starmore design. The rest are custom designs by me). Each was given as a special award for the volunteer work by the recipient.

  1. Hello, I am going to try your pattern for the first time. It is the Bayr pullover sweater. In the instructions it states that it is meant to be worn 2-4 inches of ease. My question is are the 2-4 inches already worked into the pattern or should I go up a size to allow for them. My husband has a 46 inch chest. Should I do the cast on for the 46 inch or should I jump up to the 51.5 inch . I look forward to starting this pattern. Thank you for all your help in advanced.

Hi Michele – just sent you an email reply, let me know if you don’t get it. The measurements for all my garment patterns are finished measurements – so you’d knit the size you want based on the amount of ease you like. For a 46-inch chest measurement, I’d knit the 51.5-inch size so the sweater will have some ease.
